  • Reach out to the communities that experience barriers to receiving the A.A. message due to language differences, physical limitations, cultural differences, etc.;
  • Communicate with the public and appropriate agencies to inform them about A.A. accessibility; and
  • Provide resources and guidance to A.A. groups so that they can accommodate all A.A. members.

  • Create portable archives exhibits to display at local A.A. events; and

  • Contact Correctional Facilities within the District to inform them about 12 step work;
  • Facilitate in getting A.A. groups involved with these facilities by either bringing meetings into the facility or by sponsorship of persons in custody;
  • Stay in communication with both the Correctional Facilities and A.A. groups to assist in ongoing support.

  • Introduce and distribute the A.A. Grapevine & La Viña;
  • Inform members, through displays and other suitable methods, about all available Grapevine publications, audio-visual materials, and other special items; and

  • Visit the A.A. groups in the District to provide information about the District and General Service structure, and to invite greater participation at the District and Area events.

  • Provide displays, supplies of A.A. catalogs and order forms; and
  • Consider proposed additions to and changes in Conference-approved literature and audiovisual material.

  • Provide information for local community events and to health care facilities, churches, libraries, and police stations; and
  • Ensure local media have accurate information about A.A. through PSAs, anonymity-protected interviews and press kits.

  • Bring the A.A. message of hope for recovery to alcoholics in a variety of treatment settings;
  • Demonstrate to administrators and staff “how it works;” and
  • Provide information about A.A., as well as literature and guidelines for setting up A.A. meetings in treatment facilities and outpatient settings.
